2022 Honda Civic Sedan Arrives At Showrooms, Starting At $22,695
It should soon hit the dealerships in the UAE, too.
The 2022 Honda Civic sedan has arrived at the showrooms in the USA featuring a new design, excellent cabin facilities, and plenty of new techs. The 11th generation model is drastically different in design from its predecessor, which would work in its favour.
America’s bestselling compact sedan gives buyers two engine choices and just one transmission option i.e. a CVT (sorry, no manual). The four variants include LX, Sport, EX, and the range-topping Touring.
For the U.S., the base LX costs $22,695 (a $450 increase compared to the previous model), including destination. It features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine generating 158 hp and 138 lb-ft of torque. The power goes to the front wheels through a CVT. The entry-level model boasts standard LED headlamps on the front and lots of new stuff inside. It gets an analogue-digital instrument cluster and a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Sport and EX models are the wrong way up for American and Canadian markets.
Honda has positioned the Sport model on the second level in the U.S.; however, it comes at second last in other markets. It starts at $24,095 and includes modified 18-inch alloy wheels shod with low profile rubber to give it a sporty appearance. Other facilities include an updated eight-speaker audio system, leather-covered steering wheel and gear knob and so on. Paddle shifters, sport pedals, and a new Sport mode are also fresh for this model. For Canadian markets, the specifications are the same and the price starts at $29,565.
One level behind the range-topping Touring is the EX model costing $25,695 (including destination fee). Contrasted to the Canadian version, the EX for America features an updated 1.5-litre turbocharged mill churning out 180 hp (6 hp and 15 lb-ft more than before) and 177 lb-ft of torque. It comes equipped with a dual-zone climate control system, a power-sliding sunroof and more. For Canadians, it goes for CAD 26,765 but accompanies the 2.0-litre engine.
At the top of the line is the fully-loaded Touring costing $29,295. Powered by the 1.5-litre turbo motor, it retains its old price with some welcome additions. The touchscreen infotainment is now bigger at 9.0 inches supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new features include a 10.2-inch all-digital instrument cluster and a Bose premium sound system, wireless charging, and low-speed braking control. The Canadian Touring costs $30,265.
All 2022 Honda Civic sedan models come equipped with a Honda Sensing suite. The safety facilities include forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist and updated adaptive cruise control. The new additions in the suite are traffic jam assist and traffic sign recognition. The EX and Touring variants come with standard blind-spot monitoring, as well.
The 2022 Honda Civic sedan should soon hit the dealerships in the UAE, too. We will let you know when it arrives here.
