Chevrolet Unveils Redesigned 2021 Suburban and Tahoe
The fuel economy numbers as well as the pricing are unknown yet.
Chevrolet has updated its full-size Suburban SUV and a little smaller Tahoe for the worldwide markets, making them bigger and better. The apparent changes outside are standard LED lights both on front and rear, and standard 18-inch wheels. Both 2021 Suburban and Tahoe will give buyers a choice of nine colors at the start.
As said earlier, the full-size SUVs have gone bigger. The 2021 Suburban adds 4.1 inches in the wheelbase and is now 1.3 inches lengthier, on the whole. On the other hand, the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe gains even more by adding 4.9 inches in the wheelbase. The bumper-to-bumper space increases by 6.7 inches.
That’s not all! The automaker has introduced a new suspension for both SUVs, replacing the solid axle with the multi-link, independent rear suspension for a smoother ride. Customers can even opt for Magnetic Ride Control and Air Ride Adaptive Suspension for an even better drive. With the new suspension and extended wheelbase, the Bow Tie twins get extra legroom and cargo space. The 2021 Tahoe now offers 66% more cargo room and 10 inches extra legroom in the 3rd row. Similarly, the 2021 Suburban receives 19% more cargo space and 2 inches extra legroom in the 2nd and 3rd row.
Inside, these SUVs can have five displays, including a standard-issue 10-inch infotainment screen and 12.6-inch LCDs for rear-seat passengers. Additionally, the vehicles offer plenty of safety features for a safe drive both on and off the road.
In the power department, we have good news for diesel fans. Starting with the well-known 5.3-liter V8 producing 355 horsepower and the carry-over 6.2-liter V8 generating 420-hp, customers can also opt for the new 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel inline-six. The latter yields around 277 horsepower and 623 Newton-meters of torque. All the engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The fuel economy numbers, as well as the pricing,2021 Suburban and Tahoe are unknown yet. However, we can tell that 2021 Suburban and Tahoe will fetch a higher price than the outgoing models. In the UAE, the 2020 Suburban starts at AED 190,100, while the 2020 Tahoe costs AED 179,300.
We expect to receive these 2021 SUVs by the mid of next year in the UAE.
