DEWA Extends Free EV Charging till Dec 2021
It is available for only non-commercial users at DEWA public charging points.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced EV Green Charger Initiative in September 2017, which allowed its members free EV charging until December 2019. That grace period will end next month but the good news is, DEWA has extended this facility till December 31, 2021. However, the free EV charging is available for only non-commercial users at DEWA public charging points and does not entertain home charging.
Commercial electric vehicles have to pay from January 1, 2020, for every charge. The rate is set at 29 fils per kilowatt-hour.

If you own a non-commercial vehicle, which is not registered with the EV Green Charger program, you can visit any Dewa happiness center with your Emirates ID, vehicle license and registration.
Those who do not an EV are encouraged to become a part of the Dubai Green Mobility Initiative by buying a hybrid or an electric vehicle and contribute toward the environment.
