2020 VW ID.3 Teased Before Frankfurt Show’s Unveiling
The rear wheel drive will start from €30,000.
Volkswagen is preparing the 2020 VW ID.3 for 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, but before the official unveiling, they have released a teaser image, which shows its full face with a slight disguise. Volkswagen’s first mass-produced all-electric car will come with “a ground-breaking design, greater ranges, impressive driving dynamics, and spacious interior.”
The best thing about the 2020 VW ID.3 is the choice of three batteries to meet the needs of different customers. The automaker is offering three battery options including an entry-level 45-kWh battery, a mid-level 58-kWh pack, and the most potent 77-kWh battery. These batteries will provide a range between 330 and 550 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. The automaker says they are quick to charge adding around 290 kilometers of range in just 30 minutes. Another great thing about these batteries is eight years or 160,000 km guarantee on capacity.
The 2020 VW ID.3 is the first production vehicle to use VW MEB platform. The rear-wheel-drive will start from €30,000 ($33,300 approximately). Volkswagen has so far got 30,000 reservation for the EV and plans to begin production in the fall of 2019.
The next vehicle in VW’s all-electric lineup will be I.D. Crozz, boasting two electric motors that will create 300 horsepower to power all the wheels.
