Leaked Pictures Of 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Surface Online
Porsche won’t add a manual option to its latest upgrade.
Germany’s top-performance sports car brand Porsche has reportedly been working on its track-ready 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The first look of the overhauled sports car has been unearthed as a result of a leak made by Drive. The photos though have been removed but not before other websites retained them.
Judging from the images, the exterior seems to have been upgraded to a more aggressive sporty finish, inspired by the Porsche 911 GT3. The rear of the car, including the spoiler and the duck-tail, have been altered to improve the car’s aerodynamics. To increase the performance of the car, weight has been reduced by introducing a new carbon-fiber skeleton for the seats, sound-proof material, and a lighter engine cover.
Moreover, we know mechanical specifications of the vehicle. The immense power comes from the 4.0-liter 6-cylinder engine capable of producing 520 horsepower, which is 20 more compared to the previous version. The 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 RS will be 0.1 seconds quicker than its predecessor, with 0 to 60 mph time of just 3.2 seconds.
The rear wheel steering system has also been upgraded along with an increase in the size of the rims. The powerful 911 GT3 RS sits on 20-inch front tires and 21-inch rear tires.
Porsche won’t add a manual option to its latest upgrade and so the 911 RS will come equipped with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
The newest sports car by Porsche will be unveiled at the infamous 2018 Geneva Motor Show that will be held in March this year.
